The Cats Who Care service organization donated a tree to The Meadows of Kalida Christmas Tree Gala. The vision of The Gingerbread Tree began in the Biomedical Science classroom following a curriculum discussion led by Mrs. Warnecke about public health and related educational campaigns. The students expanded the discussion to include service and giving to our community, with a focus on promoting the health and well-being of community members. Very quickly a small but mighty group of students assembled and kicked off this student driven project. The wooden ornaments were designed by some Civil Engineering and Architecture senior students, in Mr. Liebrecht’s class. They used CAD to create ornaments including three styles of Gingerbread houses and a Gingerbread man. These students with the assistance of Mr. Gable in the Ag Science lab, uploaded their designs into GloForge and cut the ornaments with the laser engraver. Students in Biomedical Innovations class created decorative stencils, finished off the painting of the ornaments and decorated the tree. Creators: Cole Goubeaux, Eli Patrick, Grady Kuhlman,
Camdyn Warnecke, Aubree Sickles, Emma von der Embse, Maddie Myers, Mylie Rampe, Lauren Laudick, Izzy Recker, Owen Siebeneck, and Ryan Schnipke
